    Che Ramos says "I am Black and I drink a lot of bourbon." He has also worked in some of the best beverage establishments in the state. He's turned the knowledge into tastings, classes, and now, his own line of drink syrups like Old Fashioned and Orange Spice.

    It all started because Carrie needed art on her walls. She's a sucker for fun colors, and has collected little pieces of art from all over the place. She creates paintings from pictures and has even been known to frame something not typically framed (like the side of a six pack holder).

  • Durham Toffee

    In 2008, as a single mom-artist-realtor, Rebecca Burnett began selling toffee from her cheery little kitchen for extra cash. Over the next eight years, crazy growing demand inspired a dream—The Durham Toffee Company—which officially launched in “the Bull City” in February of 2016.

As a black-owned herbal infusion company, it specialize in creating delicious beverage experiences by only using 3 to 7 organic and all-natural ingredients in infusions to promote health, wellness, and superior flavor.

    Gail fell in love with West African spices 20 years ago and spent those years perfecting her authentic blend. King’s Pepper is a rich aromatic blend of exotic herbs and fiery spices that's based on a centuries old West African recipe. There's no salt, peanut or MSG in it and it's gluten free and you can put it on nearly everything.

They are small and independently owned and operated, quality, service, and heart-driven, Latina co-owned, and women-forward. Their team is comprised of people of different cultures, genders, languages, faiths, and beliefs.

    Michelle is a cookie artist, designer, and decorator. Being creative is a dominant force in her life. Interior design was her career for 17 years before MBO was formed and what started as a random weekend of cookie decorating in 2019, turned into a full-blown, non-stop obsession.

    Nick Cook is a designer, artist, + illustrator based in Durham, NC. He's also an avid runner and craft beer lover and fully embraces being a dog dad to his three-year-old black lab, Charlie, and recently dad to a human too!

    Papermill Creative launched in 2018 by artist Lori Melliere. Lori loves to work in details that capture the spirit of the places that inspire her. Each product is derived from her original watercolor and digital artwork.
